High Risk Pregnancy Unit

The Strong Beginnings Center at Strong Memorial Hospital provides a healthy and welcoming environment for mothers, children, and families. The 3-1400 Delivery Unit specifically provides highly skilled, experienced care for high-risk birthing situations.

The project re-oriented an existing operating room in the unit to mirror the layout and arrangement of the others to maintain consistency and create efficiencies for providers floating between OR’s. The finishes of the OR and its support spaces were upgraded to enhance the warm, welcoming environment of care that had been established in the rest of the Strong Beginnings Center.

Two cesarean operating rooms were renovated with lighting, monitors, and cabinets to assist in retrieving items quickly. Flooring that is more easily cleaned and maintained and additional storage space in adjacent support areas were also added. The project also modernized all of the equipment.
