Pain Clinic

Slocum-Dickson Medical Center contracted with HOLT to create a state-of-the-art facility for patients with chronic pain. The client’s vision was to create a clinic that emphasized a patient centered experience by providing a space that offers a sense of well-being for their patients.

The design team defined a sense of place within this large medical office building by creating a spa-like environment to ease the stress that often accompanies chronic pain. With use of translucent glass walls and patterned gradients in the recovery rooms, the space can embrace patient dignity and privacy and encourage healing. Bringing the outside in with borrowed natural light created an ambiance of organic materials, fresh green color, and diffused lighting.
