Peggy Ryan Williams Center
Responding to the master plan, the selected site enables the Peggy Ryan Williams Center to anchor the west end of the campus’ main street, with the new Business School, framing the view from the campus to Cayuga Lake.
The building houses enrollment planning, admissions, graduate studies, human resources, and executive administration. Views of the lake, the landscape, and the campus can be glimpsed through the many windows throughout the building. The building is an experiential design, conceived through the movement of people into, around, and through the spaces as they arrive, assemble, and depart for their tours of the campus.
The Peggy Ryan Williams Center is designed using sustainable practices for site selection, reduced energy, and resource consumption, and enhanced indoor environmental quality. Using geothermal heating and cooling, sustainable and local materials, wind and solar energy to supplement electricity, controlled daylighting, green roofs, porous pavement, and low maintenance native grasses the building was able to meet the rigorous standards of LEED® Platinum Certification.
The Peggy Ryan Williams Center was designed to become Net-Zero with the implementation of campus-wide solar or the purchase of green energy, supporting the campuses expanding sustainability goals.
