Brewery & Tap Room
Ithaca Beer Company was founded in 1995 with a vision of opening a brewery that exemplified the spirit of the Finger Lakes region. The new facility accommodates manufacturing growth, offers a restaurant and tasting area, and showcases the company’s “farm brewery” vision for their brand.
The new restaurant, tap room, and warehouse work together to form a cohesive “welcome center” — educating guests, offering brewery tours and tastings, and providing locally produced food in a relaxed indoor/outdoor setting.
The tap room and restaurant are unpretentious, fun, mellow, and conducive to group gathering with its shared long family style tables, games, and informal gathering areas. Agriculture and industry can be seen through the use of stainless steel that’s juxtaposed with rustic locust poles, barn board, and signage reflective of old farm signs with modern twist.
The 100’x150’ metal industrial building is set on 80 acres of farmland and woods, with the land supporting the brewery’s goals of providing local fresh produce for the pub menu and recreational opportunities for the patrons and staff. The challenge with designing the facility was to incorporate a welcoming and warm community oriented taproom, pub, retail area, and beer garden in this industrial building.
