In a strategic move to streamline its services, Cayuga Health has acquired an empty anchor store within The Shops at Ithaca Mall, with plans to transform it into a comprehensive medical facility. This ambitious project involved renovating the former Bon-Ton space into a state-of-the-art outpatient medical office building spanning 54,000 square feet.

The design of the space prioritizes accessibility and efficiency, with a central lobby providing a direct entrance from the parking lot. From this central hub, three distinct waiting areas are strategically positioned. Inside, the layout revolves around the concept of "on-stage off-stage" design, with exam spaces arranged in groups of six, each centered around a nurse station.

A centrally located blood draw lab serves as a vital support component for the exam spaces, ensuring seamless patient care. The flexibility of the design accommodates various outpatient modalities, including primary care, cardiology, dermatology, and more. Additionally, thoughtful adjacencies between the pods, offices, and medical support rooms facilitate staff collaboration and efficient circulation behind the scenes.
