East Wing Renovation

As the sole provider of acute and general hospital services for Cayuga County, Auburn Community Hospital plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to its surrounding community. It has served the Auburn community for over 130 years, expanding as needs increased. Treatment technology, mechanical systems, and equipment advancements have necessitated the renovation of several significant departments.

The initial study that HOLT conducted identified the 2nd and 3rd floors of the East Wing as optimal locations to house six critical outpatient medical clinics.

Second Floor:

  • Neurology

  • Nephrology

  • Urology

Third Floor:

  • Cardiology

  • Pulmonology

  • Endocrinology

The project sought to create a new facility that reflects and supports Auburn Community Hospital’s presence as a local leader in patient care. The project brings together scattered and siloed outpatient services under one roof and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration among practitioners. This collocation of disciplines enhances the efficiency of medical problem-solving to create more comprehensive treatment plans. This renovation is also designed around infrastructure that can scale to new equipment as medical technology continues to advance to significantly decrease the need for future renovations.
