PROJECT SIZE :
4,200 gross square feet
This spectacular setting is the backdrop for an unusual interior design that continually reconnects patients and staff with nature. The square plan places a heart-shaped staff core at its center, using undulating glass walls to achieve acoustical privacy and keep staff visually connected to patients. Consultation and exam rooms occupy about half of the glass perimeter, keeping the remaining perimeter open for views from waiting areas. The efficient plan organization lowers staff and patient travel distances and promotes staff collaboration. A special stress test suite within the complex includes a treadmill with a view and adjacent technical support areas. The warm color palette recalls the natural setting and includes extensive use of maple and textured surfaces to give the interior a rich inviting appearance. Fabric window shades and multi-level lighting options address solar concerns and provide user flexibility.
